We both started our engine drops around the same time.
I see you removed the mounting post on the middle runner for the fan mount.
I was going to do that but it was in the right spot to mount the vacuum switch going to the WUR on mine without re-doing my lines again. Where did you attach yours. I can see the lines dropping behind the #3 runner but can't make out where it is attached.
You can see it in my picture from my car. (Ignore the stainless airbox)

I shaved the mounting pads off intake runners 2 and 3 for the fan mounting bracket and removed the unused one on #4 in an effort to clean things up a bit. I moved the thermo valve behind #3 and used a spacer and a bolt to mount it to the throttle linkage pad. There are 2 tapped but unused holes in that pad that will accept an 8mm bolt. Mount it high enough to clear the throttle bellcrank. Your engine is looking good also!

Preparation for engine install continued on this warm and wet northwest day. Pressure washed the back end...up next tunnel fuel line replacement, clutch cable, and brake hoses and fluid flush....

May i suggest "choking" your front wheels like this ...
I just used some scrap 4x4's and 2x4's i had laying around,and you don't have to raise the car as high in the rear and it keeps the front spoiler off the ground !

If you have a friend with an engine hoist,you can lift the car by the engine mounts then you just lower it onto the engine.It's way safer that trying to jack it up the conventional way with your jack stands extended all the way...

I did the whole R/R by myself and it was a piece of cake,it was my first time as well !

Nice job! I am going to have to try your mineral spirits trick! I literally used a dental pick on my 40+ year old 901 to get at the nooks and crannies and nearly wrecked my back.

Excellent work. I am in the process of doing the same to my car but I am only halfway through my engine drop because I have been working so much lately and have been busy with school...

Interested in hearing on how the reseal went and if you were able to rid of all of your leaks. Did you replace any seals in the tranny? My trans is leaking for sure and motor as well from 160 places probably.

Still some work to be done before I start it up to see if my work was effective. As far as the tranny , I replaced the front cover gasket and shift shaft seal. Differential shaft seals, input shaft seal and o-ring. Stay tuned for results.

Beautiful work. Out of curiosity, how did you manage to get your fan to look like that? I love it. I'm dropping my engine to do some gearbox work and will be going through a similar set of projects.

The fan, shroud, and intakes were glass bead blasted then protected with a coat of rubbed on ACF-50.

Use 3m high temp spray adhesive. Mine's held for about 8 years now.

I second the thought of recording the start up. If I ever have to drop my motor, I think I'll be giving you a call. I enjoyed reading through this thread. Keep us updated.
