A/C issues on 1979 SC - Shutting off after couple seconds

My A/C is turning off after about 15-20 seconds of running. It seems to start getting cold or cool, I can fix that issue or any leak but it cutting out I am not even sure where to start. Once you turn it to off for a second or two it will do it all over again. Anyone have any issues like this or even an idea of where to start?

I had a problem like that once, on a trip to Charleston in the summertime. A call back to my local Porsche wrench led me to the switch on the lower console. Turns out the contacts were burned. I managed to file them off enough using my wife's emery board (for nails) and got it fixed enough to get through the trip. It's a real pain getting that switch out, seems almost to be glued in. Anyway, I replaced it with new one from our host after we got home and no problem since. Apparently that system sends all the voltage through that switch.

Might be that the contacts are corroded, or,
you may have a corroded A/C fuse contact.

Try giving the temp switch a few full rotations.

We need more information/symptoms for a more accurate diagnosis.

thanks for excellent pictures, looks like the full current to the clutch may be going through this switch.. maybe more reason to have the diode installed at the clutch as mentioned on another thread

Mine's feeling not so "fluid" on it's sweep (rotation)...time to pull and have a look....
