Long time reader first time poster
I wish to start by thanking everyone who has contributed to the site over the last 12 years as it has helped me restore my 1973.5 Targa. I could not have done it with out this forum. I don't think that any question I have ever had went unanswered.
I love my car but I am becoming more frustrated daily while driving it. The constant traffic and the rude drivers are just taking all the fun out of driving it the way it should be driven. The crappy conditions of most roads here in the North east doesn't help, the pot holes can cause kidney damage. I am beginning to think about selling it and could use some advice. The car has about 5000 miles on a totally rebuilt engine. I will list some of what I have done to it over the years: Installed Weber's, RS rear flares, 16" Fuchs, oil fed tensioner, adj. trailing arms, turbo tie rods, electronic ign., duck tail, H1 head lamps, 150 MPH speedo, new fuel tank and lines ( thanks to ethanol in the fuel), new carpets, repaint, new top, fire ext. w/Kruse mount, garaged for the last 12 years, all receipts for all work. Receipts are in a shoe box in the garage, I am afraid to total them up? I still have the original 15" cookie cutters and the original deck lid. I guess what I am reluctantly asking is what is my car worth and what avenue would be best for me to use to advertise it?? I know this is all worthless without pictures. Can someone walk me through posting some? Thanks, PJF |

Unfortunately I'm not in the market, but your car sounds nice.
to post pictures hit "reply" to this thread (do not use the "quick reply" feature) under the box for text to reply, you'll see in blue, "click here to upload a photo" You click on the link, use the browse function to locate the image on your computer and then click on the image. once the image has loaded into the "browse" window (you'll just see text) then hit the upload now button. I suggest using jpg files at 6x4 @ 72 dpi. that's a nice small file size so they will upload fast. good luck with it.

Drive it. Maybe 15" wheels, perhaps the cookies, would make the ride nicer (less pot hole issues)? You live in a beautiful part of the world, esp since fall is coming. Drive out to Lime Rock for the Vintage races. If you don't love the car after that, sell it. My guess is that you'll regret it, especially if you put all that work of your own in it.

Keep it, Drive it, Love it when you can.
But if your not feeling it, pot holes aside, the early cars are becoming ever more popular. You can search the sales forum here to see some price ranges and different conditions to give you a feel. I believe Excellence in May had the early years buyer guide for some price reference. Personally, I say if you have the space you'll always find a couple of good weeks to really enjoy her and we all know about regret, but if you do decide to sell don't even look at the shoe box.

Welcome to posting on PP forum. Interesting that you have been here for so long.
We do want to see your car. I learned to download and post pics for just the same reason, sharing them here on PP BBS. If you have I photo on your tool bar, click on it then you can plug your digital camera into your computer (using the cable that came with your camera) they will talk to each other and the download should just happen, or may require a prompt to get started. Once the down load is complete disconnect the camera. Then you can look thru the pics maybe flag the good ones so they are easier to find. Then when you write a post, toward the bottom of the page find "click here to upload a photo" then click on the upper prompt, that brings you to your I photo page. Then you find the image you want to share, click on that image. Then click accept, this will take you back to your post with the photo attached. You can click on Preview post to see the result before posting to the forum. I hope this helps, I am probably the last person here that should be trying to guide you thru this, as I am not that well versed on the computer either. Others may be able to cover anything that I missed. Cheers Richard PS I'm with the other guys in thinking you should keep the car. Pick your times for a good outing, I love predawn cruises. Thanks, for your responces. I may have sounded like selling is a foregone conclusion however that is only the case when I have a bad time driving with, traffic jams, little old ladies in Buicks going 45 in a 55 and construction . Most times I do enjoy the car.
I did try to send some photos however my photos are over 3 meag bytes. Any advice? PJF aka FCD

Nice job getting those pics up for us. Boy what a nice looking ride you have there, and you live on James Dean Blvd too boot. You have it bad :-) Don't let a bad moment make you do something rash.
Just pick your times for fun drives, and keep those pics coming. Cheers Richard |

On reducing JPG or BMP pictures:
An easy way is to open them in the Microsoft "Paint" progarm that is in the "All Programs" Accessories folder. There you can reduce the picture by selecting what size in %'s you want to make them smaller.

Wonderful looking car.
Don't let the circumstances get you down. You pick the time. Usually mine is exercised between 7:30 and 8:30.....'cept for the trips... Enjoy your car. Karl 88 Targa |

MOVE OVER... That's a great plate.
Great looking car. Keep it. I'll agree with Rikao. I prefer to sweat in my Carrera than to drive the other cars in my stable.

Keep the car. Have you seen the RSRs that ran in the early 70s on the street courses?! Almost a lift kit
.Go one step farther and do a 'rally' version. If a porsche can do Paris to Dakar, It can do a few NE potholes! 911s are nothing but flexible. t
