Yah any of the modern hot rod treatments (candy flake etc.) look rediculous. Some times brown looks OK to me. I dont mind the turquoise or the pink...but they need some light mods. lowering, maybe grey wheels, something to break it up, maybe a carrera sticker on the side kind of thing?

Why is there a hood scoop on the trunk lid?

For the front-engined V8 conversion. I love how you can look at that car and know it's from Florida.

That ridiculous purple car that keeps popping up on ebay with the Eagle Talon front clip also makes me vomit. So, too, that purple one with the ostrich leather interior I saw at the Ventura show a couple years ago. (Notice how all the really awful ones are turbo cab replicas.)

My vote: aubergine. I actually kinda like the browns.

Yes. Playa has one of dem for sure. I imagine the light nimble steering would be diminished but the car's probably got power everything.

It's a sweet 911, you have to be a little eccentric to drive it around town. But Its a nice color...Think Miami.

Many of the colors mentioned above--namely sepia brown, aubergine, or some of the greens that look like diarrhea are really bad colors by themselves. However, you put them on an longhood, and I think they look great. They're such period specific colors that the really accentuate those cars.

Now take aubergine and stick on a 997 and I think I'd throw up a little bit.

Wow. I must have bad taste. I love the browns and the peppermint 964, even strawberry (pink iroc) Metallic blues and yellow are bad in my book (I own a yellow one, over it). I saw a Barney purple Longhood that just looked wrong.

Work in progress. Pardon the poor fit of the passenger side door - needs adjusting.

This was the last time she saw daylight...mother's day 2011. Interior stripped bare; project on hold until the bathroom remodel and shingling the house is done. Grrr...

I appreciate a Long Hood in ANY color. Howver, I am somewhat dismayed by the dominance of blues / grays / metallic blacks, etc in the newer 911's

Actually, I believe that was a factory color scheme option called "Atari Space Invaders".
