Correct orientation of swaybar brackets
I replaced all rear swaybar rubbers on my 1970 911S and didn’t realize that the sway bar brackets are not symmetric.
Here are two pictures of the drivers side of the rear sway bar, positioned as it would be mounted on the car. ![]() ![]() Which one is correct? (note the slight bend in the new OEM bracket) |

Bolt on the drop links and you will see exactly where they go.
Put them on when she is on the ground, raised will give you too much load & trouble ![]()

The two parts are also exactly the same shape and so are the old brackets that came of the car. Thanks, I’ve tried this but with the car on the ground, the bracket fits on in either way without much effort. I guess I’ll just bolt them on and hope to get it right. |

this is going to sound rude, but it probably took you more time to take pics and post than to be under the car and test fit each U-bracket. in the end, you'll find they are the same.
