Where to buy an individual fuel injector electrical connector?
From my earlier post here:
Need help diagnosing a miss after tune-up Where can I get an individual one of these to splice in without buying the whole wiring harness? ![]()

Napa has these. I bought one and have it in the box still. Has the wire clip on it. I would take a phone pic but my phone is dead. NAPA 2-18457 - They had it in stock. It is the connector with two female ports in it. If you need more detailed pics I have my other camera in the man cave and can send. Advise
See post #16. What are the AAV and AAR and how do they work? |

Craig - Is the connector I am talking about the same for what Tony wants? I have a CIS system and there are no connectors on the injectors.
Also, if the same, do yours look like the original connectors with the fat neck? The NAPA one has no reinforcement. |

OK I can buy that connector and splice it on. What type of splice should I use considering it is such a high heat area? Should I keep the black part? Can't see how I would splice it with such little wire sticking out if I do. Is it important?

Can you solder it and heat shrink it?

I looked in PP for this connector and I did not see a picture and the connector is part of the wire loom so I am not sure of an individual part number. Perhaps you could call PP. This has to be a common part that fails. I have replaced several by stealing from VWs in bone yards.
I think the rubber neck reinforcement is a better choice than the NAPA connector if you can get it. You would splice it in upstream of the black rubber insulator. The black part in your pic would be removed and replaced. EDIT - I am assuming the black neck would come with the original type connector but I do not know. cgarr may have info regarding his connectors. As DRACO says use solder. You could crimp with tube connectors but more risk than solder. Last edited by Bob Kontak; 09-14-2011 at 05:58 PM.. |

I assume PP is Pelican Parts? I will call them.
I agree that I would want to splice upstream of the black connector - it seems as if it is hardened to stand the heat...

yep on PP. Pelican.
May be hardened from the heat. :-) Last edited by Bob Kontak; 09-14-2011 at 06:06 PM.. |

Do you think I could separate the wires from the black shroud and reuse it?

I picked up a couple of the connectors from Eagle Day. They even have the boots.

Thanks for the Bosch p/n. Pelican does have it but I wanted it faster so a local parts store ordered it for delivery tomorrow. Good to know!

For future reference, here is what is included in the terminal repair kits. They work on Porsche & BMW.

So I got the kit and everything worked great - until I tried to plug it back in. If you look closely on the first pic I posted, the a/c bracket is in the way of simply plugging the connector back in. I can't figure out a way to get around it, so I started removing the compressor. Except that bracket is held on by a bolt that is underneath the compressor bracket (the part that is not easy to remove from the car). NIGHTMARE! Don't know how I am going to get around this - need to search for how to remove these brackets....
BTW what wire goes to what pin? In my car it looked like the white wire with the red stripe went to the terminal furthest aft on the car. That was how it looked like it came off. Any explosions if I get this wrong?

Is the wire plug from the other injector next to it long to reach the broken one? If so just swap them. It does not matter which one goes where.
Is it the new style that's making it hard to fit in there or is it just a bad spot?
