front end question

I have a 82 sc
the front end feels poopie
when i go on a road that is the least bit bumpy
it feels like i have no co control of the steering

start with tires, condition, tread, ages, pressure
then wheel bearings...snug, no play, not tight....

brakes, FREE
tie rod ends check
ball joints check
steering linkage check
anti sway bars, ON and mounted
then shocks, front bushings,
alignment (maybe sooner on this one)

I'm not an expert but it sounds like either worn tie rods or alignment. I'd bet on the tie rods. I just replaced mine and upgraded to the turbo's. It made a big difference.

+1 on tie rods.... Upgrade to turbo version. If lowered you need the bump steer kit.

Do not do the bump steer kit yet. Only after all else has been sorted and only if car has been lowered significantly and the handling is not to your liking.

Just get the turbo tie rods. There is no reason not to.

I highly recommend the turbo's. I lowered mine too and did not have to get the bump steer kit.

I assume you have gotten your car back from the shop after the dropped part down the engine hole. How is it running after the repairs and what needed to be done to fix it ?
+1 on all the above mentioned things...look at them in order and verify what your needs are.

replaced the wheel bearing and it did the trick
