A/C removed ...

Took out the condenser and the lines to the A/C - which was dead anyways - and now I have a number of holes I would like to fill in. Any idea where I could get "plugs" or "grommets to fill these holes with - the smuggler's notch has a couple of large ones in the floor. Thanks

I've left the mystery holes as is... every gram counts , you know !

A chemistry supply store would have solid everything-proof rubber stoppers in many sizes

For the larger holes (i.e. engine compartment & trunk) where the bracket and cooling fan were, I fabricated some sheet metal (sourced from Home Depot), and had it powder coated along with other stuff I was having done, so it looks great imo....black paint would have the same look. For the hole through the smuggler's box to the passenger footwell, I used a piece of wood-like fiber board fabbed to fit. For the screw holes where all the lines were removed, I used JB Weld, as when it dries, it's pretty close to my car's color. If I can grab some decent pics later, I'll post them. Hope this helps...

I used black silicon type sealant....

I used a couple of layers of that aluminum foil tape from a building supply place.

Sorry Reifle, I'm not gonna be able to get pics for ya...old camera/pc (not this one) issue. That said, you do want to cover the hole in the engine compartment where the bracket goes through the engine tin (if your '77 is like my Carrera) for proper air circulation back there. Also the front condensor fan hole, seal that sucker up so H2O doesn't enter. It's been several years since I'd opened my smuggler's box...so long that I'd forgotten what I did there. The big hole I covered with "redneck's sheet metal"....duct tape . Sorry 'bout that...

Go down to your local electrical hardware store and pick up some electrical knockout plugs in 1/2 to 2 inch sizes as needed. You may need to size the holes appropriately with a round or 1/2 round file.
The type with the metal tabs works best as you can fold them over if you have access. Just paint them black and use some sealant and you're good to go.
