3.2 startup problems idle

Hey guys. I have a start up issue when my 3.2 is cold. It hunts for an idle and back fires or pops for a bit. It only does it when it is cold but when it is warm and I restart it it hesitates for a second or two. When it is warm outside and has been driven for a while it is hard to restart. It takes about 30 seconds before it fires. I have replaced the reference sensors and the CHT sensor in the past year, but that is about it. Here is a video of what it is doing but this time it did not do it as dramatically as it normally does.

OKay, when she is cold and hunts, leave her on and pop the lid and use a screw driver or soft mallet and tap on the ICV, if she clears up then the ICV may be gummed up, remove and clean with carb cleaner until the fluid comes out clear. Also check the OHMS on the ICV while you are at it.

You should also check for vacuum leaks and check to make sure the ground for the starter is clean near the trans mount.

I forgot to mention that I did clean the ICV. What OHMS should read on the ICV? I did check for some Vacuum leaks before but what are the suspect places to check?

Do you have the Bentley? It shows how to check it but still do the tap test.

main suspects are behing the throttle body, those damn little hose may be cracked or worse off the fitment. Intake manifold, and hard vacuum hose to the cruise control and Brake Booster to the left of the engine as you face it. I had to use a smoker to find my leak, it was the U hose back of the Throttle Body and my hose to the Brake Booster right after the brass line.

Use Starter fluid but pace yourself, too much and it will take it into your air box and give you a false positive ( raise in rpms ). But before that in a dark garage start the car and make sure you have no errand sparks, ether is nasty stuff if it ignites.
