"Just installed the yellow top."
All my Porsche independent shops say they 'suck' and are a waste of money. They are especially bad when they get to near full discharge. They never fully recover to their original capacity.

Burn the fire.

So almost 2 weeks later, no issues. Car starts and runs great every morning, even with the short drive to work. I've even been running the stereo too without any negative effects. I'm starting to wonder if there really was something wrong with the Red Top and it failed prematurely. I've heard rumor that there is a series that die early. Should I send it to optima for a refund?

If the load test didn't show any issues, Optima will likely not do much. Even if they do, they or the retailer will prorate it and apply it to a purchase.
You might get some satisfaction by presenting your receipt on new the yellow top. Prolly best to talk to the Optima wholesaler rep. Glad it worked out for ya.....at least the charging and starting part.
