Woodruf key removal!!!
Having trouble removing the woodruf keys off of the camshafts! Any one out there that can explain how I should be doing this??

I use a small flat-blade screwdriver and a hammer to tap the key out. Just be careful not to loose the key inside the engine case if you remove it with the cam still in the engine. You can pull the cam out of the carrier along with the seal if you'd rather remove the key on a workbench.

Yes, that would work. Do be careful with it falling inside your engine. Mine did and ... I pulled the engine, diassebled the heads to get it out. Yes, that was a bi.ch.

Grab it with a pair of dikes (wire cutters) and wiggle it back and forth. WOW thought I was on a porn site for a second there!!

When I'm working inside a chain box, I tip the motor (on the stand) so anything that falls won't go into the motor. If I can't tip it I shove a rag in there to catch anything.
