Key broke off in alarm switch :( Need help on bypassing the alarm...
Grrr!! Broke off the alarm switch key and it's still in there. Having a locksmith come out to pry it out (hopefully). That's something they should be able to get out, right?
I know about potentially getting a blank key cut to a new alarm key. But, worst case I might have to bypass the alarm. In that case, anyone can tell me how to do it? I'm not proficient with the electrical stuff, so please specify what wires (color) I need to alter to get it to start. The alarm unit is behind the fresh air blower, right?

Just found this:
1. Remove the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the fresh air handler in the front trunk. 3. Looking into the trunk, the alarm module will be on the left side of the car. Mine had 10 wires coming from it. 4. Find the blue and blue/red wires leaving the unit. They are located in the #61 terminals. Cut these wires and connect the ends that lead away from the alarm (make a good permenant connection, you don't want to have to take the air handler out again). Cap off the ends at the alarm module. 5. Cut the black wire leaving the alarm module. It is in terminal 87A. Cap off the end at the alarm module. Connect the end leading away from the module to another piece of wire and connect that to the bottom of the #8 fuse (which is actually the 11th one back, counting from rear of car to front). 6. Reconnect negative cable on battery and start the car. 7. If you want to put a manual "kill switch" in, install an in-line toggle switch on the black wire before the fuse box.

Order a 944 key blank. Then pull the broken key out with some needle nosed pliers. then take the broken key and the blank to a locksmith. Been there done that. mine had the key broken off in it when i got the car.

Far better advice then messing with the electric setup! If it's just a broken key and the alarm is otherwise healthy just get the key fixed.

Now, the 3.2 cars may be different, but I just bypassed my alarm system (long story) on my SC.
While troubleshooting, I was able to start the car with the alarm unit unplugged, BUT, the alternator wouldn't charge the battery. Again, long story, but the work around to the alarm system is to jumper wires, not cut them and twist them together. Presumably you are looking for a temporary fix. When you pull the airbox out, you will see a black plastic box on the passenger side that says Hella on it. There are 2 connectors. One is white and has only 2 wires to it. The other is black and has 8 wires coming out of it. The 2 wires you want to jumper are Blue and then another Blue wire that has a red stripe on it. What you will need to make a jumper is a 3 inch piece of electrical wire and 2 flat "male" terminals. Remove about 1/4 inch of the plastic covering. Crimp the wire onto the terminals and insert them into the connectors associated with the colored wires I mentioned above. Granted my car does not have the DME relay, but my car started without the alarm unit plugged in, it just wouldn't charge the battery. With the above mentioned jumper in, all was well. What I recommend is to unplug the alarm unit and see if the car starts. If she does, then my recommended temp. fix should work for you. Check the battery and it will be sitting at 12.5 or so (meaning the alternator isn't charging). Make the jumper, start it again and check the battery again. I just looked at the wiring diagram in the thread link provided above. It's EXACTLY like mine except the black wire on my car goes to the fuel pump relay and on the 3.2s it goes to your DME. Try my method since it doesn't involve any cutting of the car's wiring. Unplug both the white and black connectors and put the jumper wire on the blue and blue/red wire. These 2 go to the alternator and the charge light on the dash. Once you get the alarm lock/key situation straightened out, pull the jumper wire off, and reconnect the black and white connector.

I see, I agree that you need to jumper the blue to the blue/red for charging.
But you also must supply 12v to the black wire to the DME, without doing this the DME relay will not activate and car won't start. So you also need to jumper the black wire to the black/red one. I really think you'll need 2 jumpers. - blue and blue/red - black and black/red

Check out my old post on jumping factory alarm with no cutting involved. Just make sure you crimp the wires well. You don't want these wires coming off.

So the 944 key blank is the same as the 911 door alarm key? That good news since I need another alarm key.
