Bitz EFI on 3.0sc with 3.2 intake
GD all,
I'm planning to convert my 3.0/1980 SC to EFI with the Bitz kit, using a 3.2 inlet manifold. Can anyone tell me what parts i need to keep from the CIS system pls?. I know that the AAR needs to be used, from the forums i understand that the Deceleration valve (vacuum limit valve) also needs to be used with EFI. Does anybody know if the small vacuumline on top of the decel valve needs to be connected to the electric switch (between decel valve and warm-up regulator) or can it be connected to the throttle body only? Thanks for your help, Marcel ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Basically, all of the CIS goes away. The 3.2L manifold uses a 3-wire PWM idle control valve that can be made to work with MS although you can also plumb the AAR in with it. I actually had both the AAR and vacuum limiter in mine for a while but have gone back to the 3-wire which is a cleaner install and at least with MS2/3 gives you better idle control. The 3.2 manifold will have slight clearance issues with the engine air shroud at each intake port so you will need to remove some material from the shroud to get it to fit properly. You can also remove the CIS fuel accumulator. I actually replaced my engine bay fuel lines and fuel filter with 3.2L ones as the high pressure and return lines didn't match up well. The intake ports of the 3.0L heads do not match the geometry of the 3.2L intake runners and will need some work to match. Also, IIRC, I ended up using the 3.0L throttle linkage but had to bend it as the 3.2L linkage was too short to work on the hybrid setup.
