Need to Extend O2 Sensor Wire

I need to splice an extension wire into my O2 sensor since I installed SSI's on my SC. One of teh guys called for Mil-Spec wire but sourcing seems to be a challenge. Anybod have wire that might fit the bill? How about a heat wrap that I can use to cover the 6 inches exposed by the heat exchangers?

Any help or sources would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The link touches on, then ignores the issue with O2 sensor wires. The sensor 'breathes' thru the core of the wire so the wire must not be soldered. Not sure if you must have a specific type of wire to get the airflow that is needed but the generic Bosch replacement O2 sensor comes with quite a long lead on it which solved my length issues when I added headers..

I went and priced the Bosch O2 sensor and the lead wire it came with was about 2 inches long. Not sure which version comes with the long lead. The version of the Bosch O2 sensor I priced came with a crimped connector.
