head stud's?? how to tell if there is a broken one

Guys,
I was wondering if you had any way of telling if you had a broken headstud otherthan pulling the engine apart? plus if you may have a short cut answer for why the car would have a slight buffit or hesitaion under fullload i figure maybe fuel pump or filter.. but i was wondering you guy's may have some insight to this .. it simply feels like it's cutting out .. but runs fine under normal driving conditions .. srange.. but any help with these two questions would be very, very helpful

Thom:

Every time I see that picture, I want to remove the lower valve covers on my 2.7, just to make sure everything is ok !!
