CIS removal - engine out - 82 SC

			Hi all,

I would like some advice on how to remove the CIS and runners the easiest way and without taking the CIS all a part in a 1000 pieces. I need to give the engine a nice cleanup under all the CIS stuff and install new injectors, runner boots etc. Thanks, Christian |

It all can be removed as one unit. Remove the two nuts from the base of each runner. Use a universal joint and extensions on your socket wrench. And remove the accelerator linkage. Then get a helper and wiggle and lift it up as an entire unit.

			It works. I did it!

There is also a bracket at the back that need to come off, it goes to the top of the accelerator linkage plate.

Would you take and post some pictures of where the metal CIS lines at the back and sides of the engine go? Thanks Lorne M.

Timing is everything. Thank you for this thread!!!! Here I thought I was going to have a million parts laying around. Going to change the boots, o-rings, injectors, etc. on the CIS.

I second the request. My lines were removed by the previous owner as a preventive measure when he stored the car...plus he soda blasted the lines... They look like new. I need to install all this back in a few weeks.

I also have the engine and tranny off the car... The lines are not connected (the ones to the injectors) but everything else is.

The SC CIS system is born a mess - hence my decision to remove it in as few pieces as possible - parting it would be like doing a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle....jeez! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Great Pics Guys, it is nice to see how our systems should look and as a bonus when we need to get behind out air boxes to check the cold start or frequency valve we know where to go.

					Thanks again Lorne M
