1969 Soft Window Targa, how many built?
Just got the COA back on my Canary Yellow 1969 911T Targa that I suspected was originally a soft window car....
Turns out it is indeed a soft window car, 5 spd, leather, factory AC and special order color. My question is this, how many soft window Targa's were built in 1969? I know it's not very many, just trying to get an idea of what that number would be. |

I see 614 911S Targa's, but no delineation between soft & hard window versions.
Perhaps someone has that information. ![]()

My source at Porsche declares there is only a total '69 Targa count not a breakdown of Soft & Hard.
I spoke to Howard Adams at PCNA years ago when I requested my COA and his opinion was a total of 50 to 60 911 & 912 combined. I've come to the conclusion that number is low due to knowledge of 10 in the PNW alone. I doubt 20% of the total ended up in one corner of the USA. |

I occasionally correspond with someone at Porsche that has access to the records and he can't declare a count. I haven't found an answer in the 25 years I've owned my 69 SWT. Sure would like to know. |
