Battery Drainage help!

So my battery drains after about 18 hours. I noticed when i opened my decklid that the part in the picture shown below seems to have a current going through it. Any ideas?

Not my engine shown.

If you measure the amps your car ia drawing at rest, you can pull fuses and relays one at a time to see which one cures the draw. Then zero in on components in that circuit.
Many times bad door switches stick and drain your batt. See if your power windows always work. They shouldn't after you've opened your door.

Battery Drain.

^^^
Good advice.

18hrs would indicate something is pulling about 3A.

Hope this helps:

Good luck,

Gerry

Had the same problem a while back. Drove me crazy! Problem was the glove box light switch was turned on and that little bulb drained the battery over 18-24 hrs!

I don't get that.....mine continue to operate providing the ignition is on and my battery never drains.

This item should not be active with the key in the"Off" position.

In the "start or run" position, it will produce a slight vibration.

Pull the connector, and check your battery drain as per my other post.

Sounds like your ignition switch may be bad? Anything else seem to be powered up? Does the car start up and shut off correctly?

You may have an intermittent ignition switch causing the ICV to go "active".

I'm not familiar with the current draw for the ICV.

Maybe, someone will chime in.

Have you changed out the DME relay? This is a 'wear item' and easy to change. Maybe the computer is staying powered up after power is removed from the relay.

You could stick a test light in pin 86 of the relay socket when it is out and see if there is power there. Also feel if it clicks when you remove it.
