Modern Wiring Block?
My 77' 911 has been gutted completely. So i'm putting it back on the road, and ive thought about putting modern wiring and fuses/relays. Any ideas on where to start?

I've always liked Painless Wiring. Just to get you started, here's their very detailed installation and schematic manual:

I've been considering this for my 78... Ideally OEM coloured wiring with OEM plugs and sockets.

I've wired a few cars, I hat those "Painless" kits. They look neither stock nor tough and I've always found they need some kluging to function properly. For example, you'll need to splice a number of wires as the universal kits expect the motor to be in the front, so even ifyou switch the fuse block to the engine compartment you then need to splice the front instrument, light, horn and other wires. You also need to install your own diodes to deal with the turn signals and flashers.
The last two cars I've made them from scratch wire. If you do it right your planning will take just as long or longer than actually installing it. You should either start from the factory wiring diagram, or make your own. There are a few shareware programs out there for making diagrams.

Here's a second recommendation for fred's kit. I put his kit in my 82 and haven't had a problem with it.

I used a Bussman RTMR micro relay panel to do the rear wiring for my EFI conversion (5 relays and 10 fuses) and am very happy with it. You would likely need 2 panels for the front but they are very flexible in their configuration.
