First trial fitting and it was too low:
![]() ![]() I later discovered I could reach through the parking light holes to adjust it. After checking clearances, I found the a/c condensor guard was holding the bumper too low: ![]() Just took a few minutes to remove. All of it will come out once I get going. Right now, just fitting everything up to make sure it will all fit properly. I got to get some wider fenders. ![]() Trial fit of the steel fender flares looks good: ![]() After a couple of adjustments, it is looking perfect: ![]() ![]() I hope to get more time during the week. Otherwise next weekend we are heading to Texas for Thanksgiving.

Got back this morning at 2:00 a.m. Thanks Southwest. Our flight was delayed from San Anonio to Nashville, but we made up some time in the air. Once in Nashville, we were delayed again, but in typical Southwest fashion the pilot hotrodded it out to the runway and then just as we were set to takeoff, he turned the plane around and announced that we had forgotten someones motorized wheelchair and had to go back to get it! It was frustrating, but then so is not having your motorized wheelchair. I was surprised that the baggage dude met us half way and they had it on the plane in about 5 minutes.
So today, Scott came over and we dropped the 3.2. The saying goes, "Make a plan and then triple the time." That was pretty much it. We figured an hour, but this engine had never been out, so three hours later it looked like this: ![]() Empty, but much easier to work on: ![]() Scott is celebrating, but I was much happier when we had the engine loaded into his wife's SUV! Tomorrow I pick up my 3.6 and then continue stripping the car down. I just love my time working on the car!

Oh look what I found!
![]() Low mileage 1995 993 3.6. Soon to have PMO efi and ssi exhaust. Should be a badass! Now if work would stop getting in the way... |

I will be following this thread closely. Awesome stuff going on. Wives and fiances just have to understand our passion. I bought my 911 2 days before my fiances birthday. I think she thought I was getting her a car, but she understood. Now she loves riding around in it.

Last night I cleaned up the engine a bit, stripped out the wiring I don't need in the engine harness, removed the air pump and plugged the ports. I need to brace the flywheel flange so I can remove the crank pulley, a/c bracket, and belt sensor. I also have to remove the fan and replace the bearing with a fixed pulley.
![]() This morning I removed everything else in the engine bay, except the fuel lines as I was worried about breaking the line (any clues on how to disconnect them where they come out of the tunnel?). I even got the sound deadener pad out intact and can reuse it. ![]() I also removed the reflector panel. What a nightmare! ![]() Anyone interested in an oil cooler and lines? ![]() Flares were next. Just mocked this one up, but they fit pretty well and should butt weld right into place. Tomorrow I'll fit the rear bumper and then get serious about cutting the old flares out and welding in the new. ![]() ![]() All in all, a damn good day, but I really need to get a better camera!

Had a good day today...and...got a new iphone 5 with a much better camera!
I measured, measured, measured, cut, fit, fit, fit, and welded the left rear quarter into place and it looks awesome (I'm a bit biased). There's no turning back now: ![]() Fit up the flare: ![]() And all welded into place. Just some grinding, hammer work, and a touch of filler to go, but I move to the right one tomorrow: ![]() Here's what half of awesome looks like! ![]() More tomorrow.

I only got a few hours today to work, before my daughter had to go home. So, I focused on welding the other side up:
![]() It's starting to look like it is supposed to look: ![]() A day with the grinder, hammer, and dolly and I'll have the rear flares shaped properly and matched to the rear valance. This crap is a lot of fun!

Something special is about to happen!
Two nice size boxes showed up today. I like to alternate tearing apart and building up. The tearing down just gets old after a while. So, do you know what this is?! ![]() I spent most of the time running for hardware and installing studs. Well, there was also that pesky time when the wife wanted me to come in and eat dinner with her. Women, can't live with them...what ever... Here is another half of awesome in the making! ![]() ![]() Tomorrow I'll finish this install, paint the fan (just silver, wouldn't want to taint my engine with an MM kind of look), and install the cam position sensor. Now we're really having fun!!!

My wife left for kick boxing this morning and complained that I was hogging up the garage where her car should be parked and she might have to scrape ice off the windshield. I pointed to this and said, "suck it up."
![]() The 930 should be in the garage before her car, but women never understand that the real purpose of the garage is for men to work, sleep, and fart. The 930 actually goes in the other one car garage, but you have to squeeze out due to all my tools being in there, so she's not concerned with that bay, just the one I am trying to work in. Anyway, finished the install today. ![]() ![]() And with the rain hats: ![]() ![]() ![]() Tomorrow I'm back on the car. I'll finish gutting the interior and if I have time do some work to finish the new flares, but I also want to paint the fan and put it back together. So many projects, so little time!
