I had 851 8's on the front but it was a little too much tire for the fender. I swapped for 7x16 with 205 on the front and 9x16 with 245 on the rear.

Now this is one sweet ride, hadn't seen this thread.

Who did you use for the anodizing? and great prep work on the wheels.

I bet it's a handful in the rain [in a good way] with all that HP/torque.

Good luck with it, great job!

Wheels were done by Art Brass in Seattle and the anodizing done by Electrofinishing in Kent, WA.

It's fine in the rain as far as power goes. The way the motor is set up, it is incredibly docile during normal driving. However, squezing the throttle even just a little bit is when it starts to get scary. In the rain, you have to drive with a light foot

Thanks everyone!

Looking forward to getting it back from my friends fabrication shop! He has had it for quite a while. Items on the to-do list...

1. Front splitter / skid plate / oil cooler ducting
2. Oil line going directly from the turbo to the sump pump. This being a 965 motor, there is a drain plug on the side of the case. I'm hoping we can utilize that to bypass both scavenge pump we previously installed.
3. Muffler façade to cover all the turbo stuff and look like an old style 911 banana muffler.

Great Backdate!

I went the cheaper fiberglass direction, but if I did it again I would get metal front fenders. The bumpers are so much lighter though...

Nice hot rod Easy Tiger!

I wanted to keep everything all metal if possible. Not for any other reason than I know how to weld, but I don't know how to work with fiberglass.

I may end up needing to modify my front bumper for more air flow to the oil coolers. We'll see how the under belly ducting helps to lower the temps.

A few recent upgrades...

In an attempt to eliminate the two scavenge pumps we were using on the car, we had a custom oil line fabricated that goes directly from the turbo and into the sump of the engine. The sump pump is more powerful than any scavenge pump and the gravity feed line will keep the oil out of the turbo....hopefully 😉

The next project was to fabricate a custom muffler faćade. The turbo parts hanging below the rear bumper detract from the esthetics of the backdated bodywork. I believe that the banana muffler is a vital part of the early 911 body lines. The turbo and all the plumbing consume all the space that would usually house the banana muffler so we designed a muffler faćade. The purpose would be to hide all the turbo bits, give the illusion of a banana muffler and function as a heat shield for the body work.
