Fuchs; Size and Model for 77?

Hi,

I've done a little bit of research and know that I need a set of 15 x6 rims for my 1977s Targa. What I haven't found was part numbers or what years are compatible. So if anyone could steer me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

It is Porsche's official chart for old cars, it shows Pirelli P6000 as coming in the factory sizes, although I couldn't find the 185/70/15 in a quick Internet search.

The Pirelli P6000 that is reffered to on a few sites one being Tire Rack as a Porsche recommended fitment is a 195/65x15 which is as close as you can get to the original 185/70. There are much better and cheaper tires in that size and if you are looking for the OEM size, Vredesteins have been well received by many including myself, period looking, good performing and quiet. I'm on my second set.

As far as your Fuchs search don't get confused by the earlier first generation flat six 901 361 020 00, they take a three prong center cap and generally run a couple of hundred dollars more per set. The 10's use the ring style and you should be able to find a very nice set for around $1,000 original or refinished. Check here in classified as well as the 911s Registry, you will have to join to be able to post but it is free. Also try the Samba and everyones favorite Ebay.

If you want a modern tire, look for a 205/60-15. It will fit with no problems and your speedo will be (more or less) correct. Tire Rack (Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels) lists 7 High Performance All Season selections.

The reason I'm looking to get the Fuchs in close to original size is because I have some aftermarket rims in 16" that have 205s on them and the left rear rubs for sure and I think a few others might slightly. This is my third set of tires over the years and only one set hasn't, so I'm sick of it and besides, Fuchs just look right on these cars!

I looked on the classified and didn't see anything on the first couple of pages, I'll keep looking- no rush, I'm in MN, so the car is parked for the winter, I just want to get it sorted by April.

I have a '77 911s narrow body and I found some real nice 16 X 8 Ronal wheel with the proper offset etc... Unfortunately they rubbed (225/45/16) so I spent the time and folded the inner lip over. They still rubbed! I am now back with the original Fuchs with TOYO tires 206/60/15. I will replace them in the spring with something of a lower profile and wider tread. I have also lowered my car to "Euro" height and replaced all bushings and shocks.
