Trunk supports

I need to buy new supports for my trunk lid. However, I have a whale tail on the lid. Is a stock support enough to hold up the lid with the whale tail?

If not, what's to be done? I'm getting sick of holding up the trunk with my head.

Thanks.

Nope, you will need to double up on the supports. I would suggest two of the heavy duty Weltmeister supports.

I use locking pliers on the shaft portion of the hood shock. Holds it up real nice and fancy!

If the whale tail came stock from the factory, you already have two shocks, one on each side. In this case, you can just replace both shocks. I prefer the OEM shocks, others have reported they've had some difficulty fitting aftermarket shocks. If the tail was an add on, purchase the double shock kit from Pelican and replace the single shock you currently have.
