Because it's only 70f out we decided it was time for winter tires LOL
During the process we discovered this rather worrying damp patch. Could it be the flexible line? Found out one of the mounts is broken too. How much trouble are we in?

Is that OEM or some type of cooler that came between the trombone and the SC & Carrera fender mounts? Never seen one like it before.

Drove it!
Friday, Saturday and Sunday did a road cruise with the Chicago Region to Door County Wisconsin. 43 Cars and 83 people, and we had a great time, thanks to John Diwik for organizing the event. Drove my 74 yellowbird clone a total of 850 miles. The car ran great!

Well done, can you provide a few more rear bumper angles?

What did you do to your 911 today?
A couple of things today....
Picked up some plastic clips from the Porsche dealer that holds on the trim pieces for the targa top. At only .40 cents per clip,, one of the most affordable part I know.. ![]() ![]() The second thing I did was get one heck of a laugh. While picking up the parts, I saw an advert for a Porsche mountain bike on sale. ![]() Boy did I get a good laugh Sent via Jedi-Kung-Fu-Panda mind trick by the cat

Swapped the Momo Monte Carlo that was there when I bought the car (have stock too of course) with a Momo Mod 07 to get the wheel slightly closer (tall - seat all the way back) as well as I found the contouring of the Monte Carlo uncomfortable.
Very pleased with the look and feel. ![]() |

I can only dial in -1* front camber so had to slightly roll the fenders. Thanks. I'll get some more pics up by the weekend. It's really just the bumperettes that were removed; the holes were filled and the bumper resprayed. I kept the rubstrips as they flow well with the front rubstrip (and euro rubstrip that replaced the amber sidemarkers). I used LED license plate screws to stay legal... Just gotta wire them up. I tested them already and they light up great. |

Installed the cv I got today. End of job to replace wheel bearing and get rid of squeaks. No more squeaky squeaky.

just a bit of what's been done the last few days....
Front suspension rebuilt with ER rubber bushings, Bilstein HD inserts, 30mm raised spindles, ER race bump steer kit, 22mm Carrera ARB, SAW 21mm hollow TB's, 65mm front studs, new bearings...etc.
![]() Rear suspension rebuilt with ER rubber bushings, Bilstein HD's, new axle assemblies, Carrera 21mm ARB, Wevo RARB's, ER 27mm Hollow TB's, new bearings, etc....... ![]() Steering rack apart for inspection, cleaning and greasing. Not too bad for 9,000 miles of use. ![]() Steering rack complete again, now with Porsche 930 TR's & ER bump steer rod ends and new Porsche steering shaft bushing. ![]() ![]() New 225/40 & 265/35/18" Conti DW tires on Kinesis 8"/9.5" wheels. ![]() Last edited by Cherry Bomb; 10-22-2015 at 03:40 PM.. |

Found and adjusted a ticking valve ( dang you cylinder 2), checked timing and dwell and gave the old girl a look over in prep for my last track day of the year on Saturday. Over 60 cars signed up for 3 run groups. Should be crowded but fun.

After 275K miles, the 87 Targa needs new upholstery (Go figure?).
After viewing numerous cloth insert seats in plaids, tartans and houndstooth at the Werks Reunion, neither the wife or I could make up our minds. Today, I downloaded a sample from: Upholstery Fabric - Wool Tartan Plaids tiled it onto 11x17 and then printed out a paper mock-up to see how it might look. Here are the results: ![]() ![]() |
