Getting Closer

Got the hood wrapped in carbon, headlights in and getting ready for some wipers and other misc stuff then onto trying to lower the drivers seat for my 6' 4" 260 pound frame.

I replaced the left headlight lens this weekend since it had a little hole in it from a stone chip (I guess). I also wired the fog lights to come on when the ignition is turned on to use them as DRL.

Saturday, my son and I volunteered at the inaugural "Cars and Cannons" car show hosted inside Ft. Clinch located in Fernandina Beach, FL. Supposedly the only car show to be held inside a fort... anywhere. Maybe, maybe not but a great eclectic gathering of 56 classic and antique cars. Very cool!

Then on Monday, my '71 911T and '74 914-4 were invited to be included in the filming of a major motion picture, "Doctor Sleep", the sequel to "The Shining" starring Ewen McGregor. The director wanted the 911 in the scene so there is 100% chance it will be in the film. Based on the camera angles, the 914 should also be in the film. we were also cast as extras; it was a long day but a lot of fun. it won't be out until 2020 so I will probably forget about it.

Of course no good deed goes unpunished, as I approached the location the master cylinder died. So, of course I had to have it towed home!?!

Good weekend!

Ordered some cheap ebay headers to modify for my motor swap. 15% off sitewide today. 😀

Might order LED headlights too.

Wow that's pretty! You sure are doing that car justice, keep up the good work.

Edit: all I did today was put about 70 more miles on the odometer. One last oil leak behind the distributor to fix.

Sunday drive

Took the baby for a Sunday drive up the Hudson Valley in NY. 200 miles..no drama, just pure fun!

Making the most of this opportunity, before the car goes on sale.

Good weekend!
Update; not the master cylinder but the left front brake line. They are after market steel braided lines but fairly old and leaking through the wall of the line. Waiting on replacements from our host. Much easier to replace a brake line than remove and rebuild, so for that I am relieved. Will be back on the road, soon!

Re-installed my DME after Steve Wong rebuilt it (intermittent no-start) then drove it up to Paradise on Mt. Rainier.

Picked up some cheap parts for it.

Free intercooler that's probably twice the size I can use. It does fit in the engine bay if I move one of the inlets.

Roof antenna, and some H4 headlight connectors.
