Actually, George Washingtons. Quarters are a pretty good fit.

I see a red BERU ZS109 coil in the picture.
BEWARE! This coil type is not flooded with oil (like the OEM Bosch) nor is it flooded with epoxy (like the MSD 8222 HV).
This leads to highly reduced vibration/heat resistance and it may fail.
You better mount this BERU coil UPWARD !

^^^Well done!

I ditched the stupid trunk carpeting in my 993 when I was doing my fluid flush.

I power washed the wheel wells and underside of Rosie. Checked for any cracks in the tub.

Next is power polish the paint and clean up the wheels and the old girl is ready for another season of long distance touring.

Touring starts with the first event in less than 3 weeks with a 1500 km run.

New battery relocated to smuggler's box using mounting kit . Better weight distribution as well as better fronk room for tools and scissor jack.

Upgraded the H4s to 80/110s with the JWest relay kit - what a difference!

Bumper shocks swapped out for crush tubes. One shock weights as much as all 4 crush tubes.

Mounted new Conti DWs to Linea Corsa RSR Fuchs style wheels 17"X 7.5" and 9". Them be big fat ones. Next lower to Euro spec, align, and corner balance - then post some pics.

Total weight reduction to date, 125 lbs.

Reload wallet.

Replaced the bearings in the alternator and had the fan and shroud powder coated, new belt, new plugs, fuel filter, air filter, cap and rotor. Also removed the AC unit for good and cleaned up the engine bay. Once that was all done I took her out and gave her a good shake down...
One thing I should not have done was dump the clutch, I did and then the tach reved up and then the smell of the burnning of the clutch stared... I hope I did not hurt it too much

Replaced cracked H4s with new kits from Pelican Parts.

Also signed up for the Northwest Region of PCA's Wine Tour to Walla Walla and Richland, WA scheduled for mid-May.

Porchdog: where did you get the seat belts, three-point I presume? I note that after dissembling them that mine are Honda belts!

Would almost be a shame to cover that paint with carpets.

Thanks guys...I am only adding floor mats and rear seat cushions. This build is semi track inspired.
