			I would try and PM John ... or see if grady can chime in ... I know James Browns advice is always good also ... I am having a hard time seeing that any clunk could be ok ... you are sure your turning it the right way ?? just asking ...  wish I could be of more help ..but I would follow the others advice and pull the chain covers and if you can turn the engine upside down again and remove the sump cover and pull the valve covers and plugs ...once those "holes" are open you can see most of it ... | ||

			if he was turning it continuously in one direction it would be one thing, but i think he is rocking it back and forth.  as i said, put it in. i think i was hearing the same thing on my 2.7 when it was in the car with miles on it. nver any issues.

  Seems high risk to me, especially if the engine is currently out.  Better IMO to slowly take it back apart and figure out what's wrong.

			I'd pull chain housings and valve covers first for inspection before firing up.  These aren't SBC's!
