Jay is cool to deal with but IMHO only in person and only him...over the phone he'll promise the world and then try to get the parts, too many times I called needing something and it took him up to 3 weeks just to call back to say he had the parts. HOWEVER, If I need something and have time to drive to New Lenox and strool around his "warehouse" he and I can usually find the parts I need. He has the only warehouse I've ever seen with half cars cut horizonally or vertically depending on who had the saw...and they would be on a shelf 20' off of the ground....he must have one of every color 914 door and hood ever made. Its a fun adventure to go to the warehouse, I'd recommend a visit to any in the area.
and for the 914 crowd...go visit Brad Mayer (sp?) in Peoria and check out his "Barns" full of 914s and 914 parts.....

Just adding my own recent experience to this thread, should anyone search again.

Ebay auction won, payment sent same-day, two weeks later, they've not repied to any e-mails, not sent any confirmation that they've shipped it.

They're getting one more day, then I'll be getting eBay, Paypal and Andale (who handles their processing) involved.

Its only a $30 order, but I'd strongly suggest people avoid this shop like the plague. Maybe they've just got bad service, who knows... but if you can't respond to customers in a timely manner, you shouldn't be in business.

Greetings,

I had trouble with these clowns years ago before internet transactions. I asked for steel 914 rockers and received lousy fiberglass ones, also received dented, yes dented 914 caps. After many phone calls where I was jerked around I had to threaten to file a complaint with PCA (they advertise in Panorama) to get anywhere. With so many good people in the Porsche World, I would forget their number.Glad I finally have a chance to tell the world!

Best,

Don

How many stories have to be told before folks stop going to this crook?

Let me reply to the next victim before he comes crying to the board AFTER getting ripped off - WE TOLD YOU SO! And quit with the whiny stories about shutting him down. The government don't give a ****.

Anyone want to buy a MotorMeister rebuild cheap?

Yeah, shame they're too incompetant to ship products before you file complaints against them, and then they're too incompetant to ship the item to the address they themselves sent in their confirmation e-mail.

Still no replies from them, still no refund and still no part. Buyer be very, very, very ware of dealing with these guys.

1 day after the auction i telephoned them with my credit card info ..these idiots dont ship my items out untill 1 month and 7 days and guess what the parts are jacked and not even like the ones pictured. Lucky i paid with credit cards so i filed a claim against them. Some of those so called "Porsche" companies should not even be selling parts, they are crooks and thieves and just interested in getting top dollar from the name "porsche"

Parts Werks

I really enjoyed buying parts from these guys. I restored my 66 911 and I had a small E-Bay habit for a while, but I got a lot of nice O.E.M. parts. No problems.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, finally I get the part today... the wrong part. I've got no idea what it is, but 30 days after winning the Auction I still have never gotten an e-mail from them, never got an explanation, and I've got a mystery part here, and no idea what it is except that its not that I ordered.

I've been buying 914 stuff from them on eBay; they are a little slow on delivery but the parts are good so far.

One item is way late - got an auto email from them today - "Out until the 27th"; maybe they went to Rennsport Reunion! Must be a one horse show; you'd think someone would be "minding the store" for a whole week!

I think germanautodismantlersinc was formerly PAP (which moved). The old PAP didn't have a great rep.

Bought brake parts, and other items from them. They shipped incorrect parts on numerous occasions. Total pain in the butt. Stick with Pelican or Parts Heaven!

Mixed reviews from me. I knew them when they had an employee who left them. After a couple of dealings, I went to the employee's business. He no longer exists. Jay is fine, but as it has been said, he is a small business (nothing wrong with that, they are what keep america going!!!!!) but I think it is the occasional lapse that has prevented them from going. I beleive they are more trust worthy thatn they are being presented but could definitely improve on competance.

I'll add to the STAY AWAY from these guys. I had already read this thread so I though I would start off small with these guys. I won a emblem from them via eBay, I paid right away via PayPal, and nothing for 2 weeks. I emailed them, and "O it must be in the mail, we will check". I ask for tracking number, anything, but no more emails after the "items in the mail" one. 30 days and nothing, no item, no tracking number, no emails.
No big deal on my part, I was warned, and a low buck item, but I'd hate to see a Pelicanhead burned on sometime big ($) or something you really need. Stick with Pelican for new stuff, and NOT Partwerks for anything.

Part Werks

Bought 911 catalog almost a month ago, paid sameday, book, no email, have tried repeatedly to get an answer, Monday I request refund from Paypal, maybe if we put info out this way, we can get some attention. I will avoid Part Werks from now on.
