fuch originality questions...
ok.
When is a fuch not a fuch? typically they have a forged 901 or 911 part number... But what if it is rubber stamped. There is also a kontrolle stamp, is this the same as the forged number variety? There must be an answer out there... Thanks |

All the fuchs alloys have the stylized triangle with a 'cp' in the center. It actually looks like a fox' face.
This mark is forged in and is 10 mm per side. There were aftermarket companies that actually cast in the 901 or 911 part numbers, so look for that little "fox face" when purchasing fuchs |

Fuchs
What size do you have? There was one 7 x 15 that did rubber stamp the part number (the 911R 7 x 15).
Also check in the "dips" inbetween the lugs....real Fuchs (early ones are my knowledge base) have the month and year stamped into them. Eric |

TRE,
The logo in a triangle and the fox head are 2 distinct stampings. The triangle with the 2 letters identifies a part as a genuine porsche part, the fox head is the mark from the Fuchs factory, which incidentally, still build wheels, e.g. for Audis. GeorgeK |

Just curious...does Fuchs still make wheels? I don't think I have ever seen an ad or anything for the wheels new. Did they ever make any styles other than the ones we are all familiar with?
Just curious

They still make 'em. I inquired with Hendrick Porsche about a pair of 16x9's. They gave me a price, so the factory still supplies them.

the details
The wheel I have say this...
The code is 911 361 020 00 AS1 62F 28 39 and has a 373 on the area in-between the lug nut holes on the rear. But the numbers are rubber stamped and there is an other seal that says Kontrole

Sorry, but what tyres are on this wheel - are they Dunlop Sport Super D4 185/70/VR15's.
If they are, do you want to sell them (or one) to someone in the UK? |

The wheel (and tyre) was an ebay purchase and I thought it to be an original spare. The seems almost unused and contains a tube inside. This I felt was orignal but the logic of the stamping of the wheels with the part number etc seems good, except with this wheel. Odd, yep but all the quality is there...
Still no resounding opinions... And sorry, I was hoping to keep the tyre as is. Maybe there is another source for these dunlops in blighty. |
