How much will my ride height change if I yank all the A/C stuff out?

If I pull out all the A/C related stuff, will I really need to have the car re-corner balanced and ride height adjusted?

I had it all done about a year or so ago and am really happy with it and don't really want to mess it all up and pay the $$ to have it redone.

All my AC stuff weighed in at about 50 lbs. Less than the change with the change in fuel load. In my opinion it not needed to redo your settings.

I'm mostly concerned on the backend if I pull out the compressor, bracket and engine lid condenser. They are all hanging back there behind the rear suspension. I don't really want the jacked up back end look.

When I took those off the increase in height wasn't noticeable. I left the hoses in there though as I'm still debating whether to go all out.

Mine didn't change enough to notice and I removed everything.

I read somewhere the whole system, front and rear is 105 lbs The parts are somewhat distributed evenly save the lump in the rear on the right side - however it is closer to the middle of the car than the edge of the fender. Roughly what would the differential be front to rear - 20 lbs maybe?

I would not sweat it.

I removed all of the AC equipment and the cabin rear deck/seat sound pads and the two huge rubber bumpers...no real noticeable height increase and 10k later the exact same tire wear that is even across the tread..front and rear.

The Nippondenso compressors on the 3.2's are much lighter than the old Yorks. I've got mine out and on the bench now, I doubt it weighs more than 10 lbs. Surprised me how light it was. The mount is aluminum, not all that heavy either. And the condenser in the deck lid is light also. I don't think the package on a 3.2 is worth a re-balance.

On my '80 SC, the compressor was 23.6 pounds, and the bracket and condenser was 11.2, for a grand total (with hoses still in place) of 34.8 pounds.

Good for you, a manly man...pull the weight out. The old hot rodder maxim was 100 lbs = 10 hp.
I was stationed at Ft. Benning a time or two many moons ago, drove a new E Type Jag with no AC...it was just what you did.
Now guys talk about 'melting' etc....prob ruins their man makeup.

I went from a turbo tail to FB ducktail, removed air pump, backdated heat, york to sanden compressor, and big bmperettes to narrow Euro's. All told I shed about 65 lbs. off the back. It raised about 3/4".

I've put about 3500 miles on the car in the last month...daily driver now....windows down and wind in the hair (well, if I had some more maybe)

Since we're talking horsepower and manliness here, do you think the weight savings and testosterone bump you've achieved, thanks to your a/c and bumper tits removal, will have anything for my highly modified a/c (read, weight added via additional condensers) equipped, pansy mobile?

I'm going to a lighter weight retro 3.2 and removed a weighed 260 lbs from the car. Removed A/C, all bumpers, all intake and FI system, cat, engine heating fan, speed control, etc... added very lightweight ITB's and fiberglass bumpers. Ride height went up ~1.5" in rear and 1" in front and now needs changed. Sunroof and power mirrors are next to be removed but will leave electric windows. Looking for that 100 lbs to 10 HP ratio.

I pulled the entire a/c, front/rear bumpers, and deck lid. I measured ride height and it was 3/4" higher. I then realized that the car had been on jack stands with the wheels hanging for a while. I drove it for a week and remeasured. It was only up 1/8". I think you will be fine.

I ripped ALL of my A/C, heat, condensers, blowers, radio, blah blah...

To untrained eye car looks 100% complete but has lost 191lbs since I've started.

Had lowered/corner balanced after all this...AMAZING difference. After minor engine mods and weight loss, the 100lbs = 10hp is readily felt in the "seat of the pants"

Go for it! Yank it all out!

Just think, any of you"I love to sweat ass in my car because I'm a real man" types could have simply added one of these and kept your a/c in place so that non sweat-hog passengers, or future owners, could have enjoyed it! Not to mention, the addition of this would trump your weight savings hands down if you are looking for performance gains!

And to answer any of the "but, but, but that's too expensive, too complicated, hurts reliability, etc.", would a REAL MAN use those excuses?!
