Calliper Color Picture thread

Trying to Decide what color to use. Can't quite picture in your mind what different color calipers would like actualy mounted on your Car? Most likely some one else has already done theirs in a color you may be thinking about.

Sorry I can't start it out with a picture because I am trying to decide what color to go with for my polished Fuchs on lemon Chiffon 84' Cab. Red, Black, Silver, How about Cadium Gold. Hmmm....

I think this can be a very useful thread if we get enough pictures of wheels on the cars to show the look with different color combinations.

Thanks

I have a red Brembo GTP kit on a black 1987.
I also had trouble deciding on a color when I was ordering the GTP kit with my other choice being black calipers instead of the red calipers.

Ditch red. Is a poseur color unless you are running a hi-performance caliper (Brembo, etc.) or 3-puck calipers at a min.

Black, gold or silver are low-key and respectable, not pretentious on a stock 911. Any of those three would look great against your Lemon Chiffon finish I think.

I agree with Jdub for a mostly stock car. Didn't notice that your car is mostly original, in which case I'd lean towards black. Would like to see what Cadium Gold looks like in a photo though.

The only proper red calipers out there are legitimate "Big Reds". Other red clippers are easily spotted as a "wanna be" as jdub said. I painted mine black for a black carerra. That was only because they were so crusty something had to be done and getting them plated at PMB was out of budget at the time.

I'm a fan of subdued colors like silver, gray, black because I agree the only bright colored calipers should be the fancy Brembo, Alcon, Stoptech etc. which incidentally are way overkill for a street car but to each his own.

I'd recommend powdercoating. Holds up better than plating. For example the factory zinc plated calipers tend to develop corrosion fairly quickly.

I am Really thinking about the cadium. Might be a nice contrast with the polished Fuchs and the chiffon body colour.

Would sure like to see a picture if someone has this combo.

Flat black would be the smart choice...so that it dissapates heat.

my 1 cent opinion:
I never or rarely like the brake calipers in bright color, it takes away
the attention away from the vehicle no matter how nice it is. The eyes
seems to gravitate to those colored calipers, you can look at the car but
the eyes still catches the color, if black you almost don't notice them.
