what tires can I run?

16" Fuchs, 6/7 's

I believe that factory spec for an SC is 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear. Can I run either:

225/50/16 all around

or

225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 (or 50) rear?
Stock US spec ride height. Any issues?

On what? Did you "pull the trigger"? Is it Blue? Did it belong to another Pelicanhead? Just guessing...

From what I've seen it depends on the car...rolled fenders or not, ride height etc. I don't think I could get wider than stock on my 86 Coupe without issues though.

On 6 & 7", I think 205/225 is it. On 7 & 8" you can go 225/50 in front and 245/45 in back without much trouble. Probably need to roll the front fenders.

What did you find?

Does it sound like the quest is over?

No help to your question. I'm running factory spec on mine.

Don't think you would want 225's on 6" rims in front; stock sizes seem to be popular even when rims are 7/8's. It's a decent footprint for the power/car. Remember, bigger tires eat HP.

check this out, it might help and I believe it is the same for all tires.
I had to put a (*) next to the rim widths as the chart form didn't work here.

I can't wait! This is torture, in a very good way. Don't they have names for people like that? "It hurts so good!"

Don't say another word, don't risk jinxing the whole thing.

Unfortunately, it may be too late.

WOW! The time has come. The trigger is cocked and he is ready to pull.
Do it!

On my 15x6 the widest I am able to go and still be functional is 205 60 15, other options would rub or just be too much for the wheel.

Pull the trigger.

I'm with ya...I didn't grow up on a softball diamond and not learn about superstitions (my dad pitched AAA fast pitch softball for years). No stepping on the chalk lines when going in or out of the dugout, never throw your glove (a sure way to start missing ground balls...gloves have feelings too), always erase the back line of the box, three swipes over the pitching rubber to clean it, and don't talk about what hasn't yet finished

I am running 245/50/16 rear and 205/55/16 front on my 83. Slightly polish one of my oil lines on the pass side rear on hard cornering.

Nostatic is asking questions about tire sizes. Perhaps he has a deposit on a set of rims, so he can place them around his computer chair...

Just kidding - sounds great, can't wait to hear the whole story!

Don

PS, Todd - I'm running 205/55 and 225/50 on mine.

Is it one of the free ones from the garage in NYC?

Congratulations, nostatic. If the deal comes together, bring it on the Big Bear run this weekend.
