Electrical problem - tail light cluster
Rebuilding the left tail light cluster. The PO tore up left turn signal bulb socket and I just repaired it and replaced the backplate at the bottom of that socket that the bulb makes contact with to complete that circuit.
Anyhow, prior to repairing the bad socket, I had the lights working (parking, brake, reverse, etc). Only the turn signal was not working. Now, when I switch on the lights with key in ignition turned to "2" position, all the lights in the cluster are on simultaneously. Any ideas? I haven't yet scrubbed all the fuses. Btw, this '76 911S has sat idle for 13 years. Last edited by gjmascoli; 06-12-2013 at 05:46 AM.. Reason: clarity |

If all the light are on, but less bright, than a ground problem might be the cause. You have repaired the turn signal socket. Could it be that you forgot the ground wire or could the ground wire be broken?
