I must say. Nice job. I know who it (he) was, I believe.

I could have easily dusted you with my 69. I believe mine stock would turn 12.6 in the quarter. With me at the wheel 11.5.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/freak.gif

Ha - bring it on! I remember thinking that car was fast (until I used a stop watch to time 0-60 and such - very humbling experience). Many years later I got a 914 and though it was fast (ya' right). At least I don't have that problem anymore (the 930 actually IS fast) - ha! :D

I don't have any idea who SF is -some people would tell me via PM that he was an employee of MM, but who knows. When he created the login "Cat Fish" he sent me several PMs in an attempt to intimidate me - I ignored those . . .

You gents are right about the pollution of the a/c threads - hard to believe that every a/c related topic, even one as simple as a specific question about fittings, now includes posts, with pictures, about SPAL fans and pressure switches!

And Gilligan.

Don't forget Gilligan.

You know he was hitting Mary Ann.

Are we off course here?

Just a simple question about fittings and then SPAL fans turn up........again.........

Bob, if you were Gilligan, you'd hit that too.

And if we're off course, does that mean that this thread will turn into something more than a three-hour tour?

I can't speak for Bob, but I sure would! Oh, and no need for the three hour tour - three minutes would do me just fine - ha! Then again, maybe the addition of a SPAL fan and a pressure switch in the appropriate spots would improve performance?!?!?!

Only after discussing with senior clergy to get their opinion on Mary Ann vs Ginger.

Then I would hit it as long as big blue would hold out.

Edit - or one minute. Whichever is shortest.

Well said gents... His endless vituperations are astounding. i really have no dog in this fight. i spent my cash and have cold ac...but he needs put down like a sick old dog... Carry on..

Bob Kontak 06-17-2013 05:39 PM

Let's skip the first four steps of grief. Here are pics of Mary Ann in the acceptance stage of grief after the trinary switch install that made no difference on her 82 SC

I spent me some $700 in 1997 for a Griffiths Tech Sanden rotary, low side barrier hose (beta testing price $50) and comp to rear condenser hose- I think, like, $1.75 last century prices.

Freezing my tats off - well, pretty much - in northern Ohio with nothing but a Zims OEM R/D and "spasion" valve added for grins two years back.

Still R12 mind you. I do like the SPAL fan thoughts though.

Edit - the diatribes can stop anytime.............

dicklague 06-17-2013 07:20 PM

I will post about my pentiary pressure switch soon....

But just a hint, it turns on the fan and with more pressure turns on a sound module that is a recorded digital blizzard sound.

When it hits the fifth contacts it either deploys ........oh well can't you about all of that without a NDA.

Wwest is too busy pounding his screed input device to come join the discussion...

Amateurs.

I set up my trinary switch to trigger three other trinary switches, and each of those is set to turn off all of the lights except for one, which kills the fuel pump.

The AC gets coldest when the engine isn't running and making all of that extra heat.

A worthy entry, sir. Welcome to the unofficial Official Naysayers Club! Our motto?

Anyone tried this...

Pelican Technical Article: 911 Cooling Boost

Since it provides additional cooling airflow for the engine, might it also BOOST the condensor efficiency? As the author points out, this might be extremely helpful in slow stop and go traffic when both the engine and condensor are "suffering" from inadequate cooling airflow.

T77911S 06-18-2013 09:44 AM

i have thought of that. not the switch part just putting a fan back there to blow air thru the heater box and then block the air from the alt fan so it only cools the motor. but i like a clean looking motor so i never did it.
but i have also wondered if it hurts anything to NOT have air blowing thru the heater boxes.
