Knee pads I believe.....there's another Einmaliig joke in there some place.

BTW, dC automotive and the PP poster "Unobtanium" are decent sources for early stuff as well as the guys on the Early S board.

Good luck on the project.....

Well....
We got the chassis back a while ago but other projects have put this one in the barn.

Got it in the shop now till our engine comes back for the Alfa Monoposto.
Have been welding in the reinforcements from Elephant and general clean up.

The rear torsion tube where the spring plate bolts up had been previously ground down too far for it to work with the new reinforcement welded in so we had to build it back up to get the spacing for the arms.
That was a pita.

We decided to go with:
Elephant Monoballed front arms
Bilstiens re-valved for the 22 29 bars
Rear alum banana arms from later car with Elephant monoballs and Wevo EZ pins
Elephant RSR Style bars with new rear mounts

The gearbox with the stock ZF LSD was rebuilt by Jerry Woods
I think I am just going to do a top end refresh/reseal on the engine and call it a day.

So once all this gets mocked up and fitted it will come back apart and go back to body for paint then we put it back together....

It's been a process for sure.
We have other cars that are always at some state of work so this poor girl has taken way longer than expected.

Just got word this am that the car is ready for me again.
Going to be doing the wiring next week.
Still trying to decide on how to do it.
Leaning toward Deutsch autosport and dtm with tefzel wire but have not figured it out
also need to give the engine a once through.

That pic in black is an evidence of an excellent paint job. We need more pictures!

1 piece at a time.
Just finished rebuilding the steering column and pedal box.
found out that when the spacers were installed on the steering gear for bump steer they used a shorter inter shaft so in my attempt to assemble the steering it came up a half inch short.
the shaft is 14.5 inch instead of 15 inch.
