CV Joint Question
i'm helping a friend put a sbc into an 84 coupe. don't yell at me, it's his car and that's what he wants to do.
he bought a 1975 donor car that had the drivetrain and it has a 1975 915 tranny. the axles in that car are 4 bolt with 2 pins. they bolt up to the trans just fine but will not bolt up to the 84 hub. i removed the outer cv joint to put an 84 cv but the shaft is too big. i then realized that the cv joints are different and the older one is bigger. is there a way to mate the 75 trans to an 84 hub? is there a cv joint that fits the thicker shaft and a smaller hub?

You can remove the output flanges from the 4 bolt 2 pin 915 and drill/tap the pin holes to accept the later version 6 bolt CV's. You'll need to use all the later (6 bolt )parts to the hubs (half shafts, cv's etc.) Mind your bolt lengths and so on.
