transmission shift issue
i recently had an issue with the synchronizing ring on first gear. I dropped the engine out and rebuilt the first gear. After reassembly the transmission will not shift into rd or th gear with the car moving. When attempting to shift into rd or th you will hear a grinding noise as if the gears were not meshing. When parked there is not issues moving between gears and I can start in nd and shift to rd when moving but cannot get into th.
any suggestions? |

Proof reading is a good thing. Look at your post. What year 911?
Did you align your shifter after the trans was back in?

Are you saying that he didn't replace the slider? And could that be the cause of his problem?
That depends. Some pictures would help.

More than likely he is saying 3rd and 4th gears. Sounds like a coupler adjustment is needed.
