Is there a way to fit 16x7 Fuchs over Brembo calipers?

I have a 1987 911. When I purchased the car, it was fitted with Brembo brakes (front) along with 17 inch Porsche Cup wheels. Since I never really liked the look of the Cup wheels on my car, I purchased a set of 16 inch Fuchs to go on the car (7's on the front and 8's on the rear). Unfortunately, the new wheels won't fit over the Brembo calipers. Can I use these wheels if I add spacers? Otherwise, it looks like I have to chose between my new wheels or the Brembo calipers, right?

Depends how you want to use the car. You could measure from hub center to outside of caliper and see if a 16" rim will fit. A small spacer could do the trick. Too large and you need longer studs. Or you could run an adaptor, but then you might run out of space towards the fender lip.

How about some 17" Fuchs

I bought 16s and had them turned into 17s by Jim at Trudesign Wheels

Those aren't the typical Brembo adaptation where people take a caliper from a 944T or 964 and modify them to fit a slightly larger rotor. But they look to be about the same size. Not to mention a nice setup of two piece rotors and aftermarket Brembos!

I would be willing to bet the 944T 16x7 Fuchs wheel would fit. It has a deeper hub with countersunk lugs to clear larger brakes. It was a one-year-only wheel for the '86 944 Turbo
