List of fasteners to replace during top-end?
I'm sure someone out there has a list or spreadsheet with the specs on the non-porsche specific fasteners that one would replace during a top end overhaul. If not I can start one.
The ones that are particularly nasty on my car would be Engine Tin Timing chain Cover Exhaust Valve covers (sometimes you get these with the gaskets) Misc engine accessory McMaster-Carr part numbers also accepted...

The engine tin hardware is refered to in PET as "combination screw" "locking screw" and "hexagon head bolt". I grabbed one of the more typical fasteners and tried to thread it onto some M6 nuts I had laying around and it was clearly some sort of locking / deformed thread. Anyone know what the deal with these is?

Which engine are you doing? My engine tin used almost exclusively 10mm long M6 x 1.0 HHCS.

The locking, somewhat ovaled threads are stover nuts.

Sorry: HHCS = Hex Head Cap Screw
My reference to fasteners above was for a 2.7. |

on some of the engine tin I replaced with socket head, easier to get to and looks cleaner IMO, can find a OSH.
