Pulling out 911 guages - help
I recently had my 76- 911 in the shop to pull the speedometer/odometer so I could send to Hartmut at North Hollywood Speedometer. What a beautiful rebuild job they did.
Now my other 4 gauges standout with poor lighting. How difficult is it to pull these gauges and reattach without screwing them up? I have to send to Hartmut. Thanks. |

They all just pull out (or push out from behind) just like the Speedo. You will probably need to remove your steering wheel to get the tachometer out.

What I do is use a long wooden dowel, about two and a half or three feet long and gently push the back side of one of the gauges from the trunk. It is then easy to grab it from the front and pull them out. Once you can get one gauge out the rest come easy as well.

It's probably a good idea to put labels on all the bulb sockets because as you start pulling the bulbs out of the gauges, it can get confusing quick.
Also, +1 on the removing of the steering wheel first. |

You'll find your desire to make them all new: obsessive. Just let Hartmut make 'em all new , again!
BEST! Doyle

As to "lighting", that's another matter,.....I've found good results with the drop in LED suff.
ETARGA has some good stuff that's VERY reliable. BEST! Doyle
