I take out the doop panel but the side mirror don't have a plug, so I think I need to take out the mirror rubber to unplug from inside Anyone tell me how disassemble the right side rear mirror please

Been a while since I did the same but you should be able to remove the mirror, loosen the bolts that hold the mirror frame and remove frame # 8. From there you'd need to either turn the spring loaded bolt or wind the # 6a after removing the 3 screws that hold it. Wind it clockwise and the spring will load more tension.

It is a bit tricky and needs one person to hold the mirror housing 6a & 6b, and another to turn the screw #8, and do not over tighten #8 as the part #6c is prone to breakage.

Good luck,

Gerry

pm me as needed.

Check this post

Here is a post on getting the mirrors apart.

'80 911sc - adjusting the outside mirror base(the part that allows it to rotate)?

I will look and see if I have additional pictures.

One More

Here is the only picture I found of the Large bolt holding the base to the Flag.

You have to get the wires out prior to tightening the bolt.

What I think the poster is needing is to tighten the "tube" gizmo that runs through 6b & 6a?? All I've been able to do effectively is to disassemble the mirror and turn 6a 6b to tighten the spring? Hereby tightening up the mirror... mine loosens every year or so
