911sc front sway bar issue

I have a weltmeister thrubody front sway bar on my 1980 911sc needing new bushings (lots of rattle & noise). My local garage says these sway bars have been discontinued along with replacement bushings. They are recommending going back to the stock sway bar costing about $400-500. Since I don't race and use the car casually I don't need the heaver WM but wish I had other options.

Any suggestions. McG, NC mountains

Did you try calling either Pelican or Automotion for replacement bushings?

Called both Pelican and automotion. Pelican does not have them, automotion will call back by Friday with answer.

Check with Paragon Parts too. If no one has them, you should be able to have something made out of Delrin pretty easy by anyone with a lathe.

Since you already have through the body holes I would go with Smart Racing sways... or get bushings made up!

They don't make the Smart Racing bars anymore, but there is an almost new used one for sale in the forums here.
