Those have been modified to buzz the maintenance crew.

What's your point? Just kidding. I wasn't sure if those were A/C controls on the console or radio stuff. I'm not too familiar with the older cars' setups. Sorry.

My car has no A/C and it still has the controls. Gotta make sure that if certain changes are made, you can reverse those changes if need be. No doubt somebody would devalue my car if I were to sell it, based on the removal of the A/C. All i'd have to do is put all those lines, condensers, compressor back in there to make things right. Got it all in a box if the need arises..............

Porsche Crest Driver?

Really now, I am surprised at you guys!

This car would make a GREAT donor vehicle for my upcoming Water-Cooled 428 Side-oiler Big-Block American V-8 Conversion with dual Cool Collars, e-ram electric supercharger and performance modifications by Motor Meister! It's going to feature four wheel drive, height-adjustable suspension, automatic transmission and a triangular horn pad! Of course I will have to tastefully modify it with a four inch coffee can exhaust, to look good when I street race it!

Well, I hate to be a turd in the punchbowl at this party, but I disagree w/ several opinions here. It is one hell of a nice car, but by no means "unreplacable", as someone has suggested. There are quite a few PCA concours-type SCs out there, many with much fewer miles. (I did NOT say thousands of cars).

As for it being worth $30Gs, in the owner's dreams! There is a basically brand new 1985 911 coupe on ebay, 7000(?) miles, black w/red full leather, it has been listed several times trying to break $31G or something. This SC is a creampuff, but it looks like a nice older car next to the carrera I am refering to. It is NEW, no excuses.

Still, nice SC.

OK, I just checked and it is gone from ebay, (sold?), but it was there a couple of days ago and not for the first time. Maybe it will be back, some of you must have seen it, I sold that car new and don't remember them looking as good as the ebay car.

SC values: low teens buys a nice 100k miler, not a used-up car, (those can be $7-8000), higher teens gets a super low miles documented creampuff, (like Todd/nostatic's), $20G+ should be a PCA concours level car, or beautiful heavily modified rocket. Other valuations are wishful thinking(dreaming) on owner's part. My .02.

Hey Denis, good to see you posting. How's the back doing? Can you climb into the SC (obligatory p-car content)?

The black over red 85 had ~8K miles on it. It was located in Indiana, I looked at the car. It was originally listed for $34K I believe. It has sold, but I don't know what it went for. Maybe 30K? I'll call the guy tomorrow, and ask.

I agree with the earlier post, the 85 was new. This SC looks great, but I wouldn't pay anywhere near 30K. But, I'm still shopping.

Cool

I visited a consignment lot in Fayetteville AR recently. One of the cars was an 82'Coupe, White, dark blue interior. 83K miles, asking $17K I think. It was every bit as nice as this one. I wanted to leave an offer, but I was with the wife. I was immediately persuaded to visit the Saturn lot to look at a Vue.

Good luck,
David Duffield

Thanks for asking, Todd. The back is healing, (I hope), had surgery on 2 discs one week ago. I actually did drive the 911 about 50 feet today, outside to wash it off before placing cover on, have not been able to drive it for several weeks now. Don't know how long until I can drive a manual trans again, but 911 will be coming apart for minor rebuild when I am healthy again. Hope you are enjoying yours!

If it's got 116K miles and a repaint it doesn't matter how good it looks it ain't worth more than $20K to most people on this board.

A truly original SC with low mileage and similar appeance would be worth $25 - 26 so I can't see more than $20K value to most people for this car. If I was selling I'd ask for more as some people would go higher.

Hard to say without seeing reciepts. If t/m hasn't been done then need to factor in that expense.

I don't think that is true. If so, how could you explain that this 29K spotless SC at a reputable dealer still hasn't sold with a $21.9K asking price? $25K can get you a low miles 3.2 car. There may be people asking $25K for SC's (Excellence, Pano), but are they selling for anywhere near that?

I can explain it in one word... Y-E-L-L-O-W. Seriously where can you find original low mileage G50 3.2s in So. Cal. for $25K?

I can answer that for him: A-L-L D-A-Y L-O-N-G. D-I-M-E A D-O-Z-E-N. Do not flame back unless willing to put $ where typing finger is. I'll bet anyone on this board that I can find clean G50 coupes w/ less than 100k miles for $25Gs. All day long.

OK the diff is that I don't consider under 100K low miles. Low mileage is under 50K. Find me a mint G50 Coupe with that kind of mileage, no paint work, no spoilers for $25K in Calif. and I'm writing a check. No yellow.

Fair enough, but under 100k is considered low for these 13-15 y.o. drivers. The "$30,000 SC" in this thread has over 100k. Pertinent fact would be that ~$30Gs is the TOP OF THE WORLD for 3.2 carrera coupes. (EBAY car). That car is beyond concours, it's brand new. And an incredibly rare and beautiful color combo, IMO, and LOADED w/ options, (full leather, spoilers, ltd. slip, etc.).

a year ago I bought an '87 w/57K for $24K. That close enough? From my recent shopping the market is softer now than it was then. This car sold (again, at a dealership which is higher than private party) for $25K. If you look hard enough, I think you could find a 50K G50 car in the mid $20's without too much problem.

And I would take yellow over red ANY day of the week...but I'm weird that way

This is an old thread
But I was wondering what ever happened to the SC
and it seems the original poster doesn't post here anymore.
