Power Window Switch Dilema
Ok, I need some help! I had a rattle in the drivers door so I decided to tear the door apart. I have done this before with no problems, but this time something went wrong. As I took the five wires off each power window switch I labeled them in a clock wise fashion. I fixed the rattle, installed new vapor barrier and reassembled. I hooked the switches up, turned the key to test and nothing. Nothing except faint smoke from the window switch wires. I turned the key off, rechecked the wire orientation, turned the key and nothing. Except again smoke. What could I have done wrong?
Any insight would be great! |

Re-check the connections, but you probably fried the switch.
Bentley 570-2 says for an '84-89: Left Window driver door switch: 1. blue 2. blue/black 3. single red/blue 4. brown 5. double red/blue Right window driver door switch: 1. red/white 2. red/black 3. single red/blue 4. brown 5. double red/blue |
