Back in the early 90's 964 Cup cars ran 8x17 and 9.5x17 and later 8x18 and 9.5x18 with various metric slicks sizes not sure of the exact specs.
Current 964 Cup cars in PCA racing run 245 front and 275 rear or thereabouts. |

I agree with that 100%, Mike. Just the seat time involved in the Open Track Challenge made a huge difference in my car's 'performance.' With a little more seat time and focus, I could eventually be keeping with those 2.2S's.
![]() But I had two days at Willow Springs that were within a pretty short time, and the wider tires I would say meant a couple of seconds. But it's a cumulative thing. You get more experience, and address some handling problems, and it leads to more confidence when you're driving, and that leads to quicker lap times. It's all cumulative, and hard to sort out. My goal, whether I drive the event or not, is to be getting 1:32's at Willow by the time of the next OTC.

Jack,
Thanks for the offsets. They will come in handy when the time comes. Rick

One of the guys in the club was club racing a hot 914-6 and supposedly he found that he wasn't able to get enough heat into "too-wide" tires for them to be effective. Just a thought.
