I replaced my "frunk" seal last weekend because it wasn't closing properly along the hood lid following replacement of the hood shocks. I just drove through a torrential downpour and have water penetration past the seal into the frunk. As its the proper seal for the car (an 87), I'm looking for some advice (and a photo or two) about how I should align the rubber into the groove to get the proper seal.
Photos of how I have it now follow my signature. Thanks, Dave ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Can you post a pic of the trunk closed. It would help to see how the trunk sits next to the window screen frame. Basically does the trunk sit higher than the frame?
When I replaced my seal, I had to align (lower) the trunk to obtain a proper seal.

My hood alignment's OK--I'm just mental. It looked really, really good upside down.
![]() I pulled it out and reinstalled right side up. Now the seal has a lip that should deflect wind and water.
