...as opposed to continue bashing each other, and throwing insults in each other's faces..
![]() I did some work on the car yesterday evening, and lowered the entire front suspension in one piece, and it is now coming apart for clenaing and bushing replacement. BEFORE taking it apart, I'm worried about messing up the correct angles at which the bars sit relative to the A-arms - should I worry about this, and if so, what measures should be taken so that I get it all back the same way it is now? Anyone? ![]() ------------------ 1972 911S Targa (with 1982 3.0L drivetrain) ************************ My project! |

Suppose you count the number of turns it takes to remove each adjusting screw and doing the reverse on reassembly, how could you go wrong?

The fronts are no problem. Just measure each side, ground to wheel well and adjust to even height. The main problem may come with setting the front ride height different that before removal. If you change the front ride height you will affect the balance on the rear. Did you measure the ride height before? If so, just set it the same. Don't know if this helps.
This is also a good time to insert zirk fittings if you are using hard bushings to eliminate the future squeeking. I did it to my 78SC a few weeks ago. I posted some pictures. You should be alble to find them through a search. ------------------ Paul 78SC Targa [This message has been edited by pbs911 (edited 09-14-2001).] |
