89 Carrera engine install questions

Ok getting ready to reinstall my rebuilt engine... I started today and first up was reinstallation of the return fuel line that runs up from the cabin firewall into the engine bay into the injection system. There is some kind of vacum line that runs along with it through a couple of carriers. See pics "circled" in green. It runs from the top of the first pick into the engine bay. From here I am not sure where it went. Pics 2 and 3 are where I'm thinking it went....attaching to another larger diameter line joined by a double male end connector. Is this correct? Can you tell me what this line does...My guess is that it is a vacum line of somekind.

As I recall, I think that's is correct, it goes to the carbon filter canister

Yes, as I recall, it is the vapor line that goes into the canister.

Let's wait for others to confirm.
