Finally time to put some carpet in. We went light weight RS carpet ...what a surprise ...
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...S/DSCN2523.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...S/DSCN2526.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...S/DSCN2527.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...S/DSCN2528.jpg Now ...I would like som opinions here. I have chosen to use the original interior to hide the seat belt roller that would hardly be visible. the RS carpet does have pieces that fit and replace the "side wall". The jury is still out on this one ....please tell me what you think. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...S/DSCN2589.jpg |
I think it is fine as is.

Great project!

Since you asked for opinions I prefer to use the carpeted sides and mount retracting seatbelts outside the carpet. I did this on my 70 then my 69 and now I'm doing so on my backdated 83. The vinyl bit just looks out of place and the seat belts are barely visible and when observed just look simple and functional much like the RS carpet kit.
Does any body know (or even better, have a photo of) what an original RS had in this position? I presume they had retracting belts. |

Thanks for the comment, I must say that I am starting to like the RS look with carpeted sides more and more and as you say, it would be nice to see how the original cars solved the problem. That´s if they even had seatbelts not that many country´s required then by law back in 73 ( I found 5 countries ) |
Am i the only one that can't see the pics anymore
|
NO your not the only one ....seemingly to many people have had a look at the pictures and there for I have to pay or wait for the pics to show again.
Does any one have an alternative to photobucket were they dont limit use? |

Using the internet mantra "nothing is really free- either you are the consumer or the product", I stepped up and got a full professional subscription to smugmug. I pay a lot of money, but it's light years ahead of photobucket. I bet smugmug has some cheaper (or maybe even "free" options), and I'm sure there are some other good sites that people can chime in on. Basically my whole point is to say I feel your photobucket pain. It's a good place to post your justin beiber selfies. Not much else. Good luck Ron |
+1 for SmugMug. I don't sell my photos or need my own domain, so I have the $40/yr basic plan.
|
...FWIW, I can't see the pictures there either and have stopped using online services ever since the compromising pictures of me and Charlize went public....what with a 2 tB drive being so cheap, I just make two copies and store them locally where the paparazzi can't get them...
