I have tried, and it is difficult as Bosch installs a steel piece inside the black portion of the connector to keep the wires spread.
The other concern is the fragility of the clear plastic that is inserted into the distributor when removing the terminals to swap out the wire.
Others have had success though, so it is worth an attempt.
Locking tabs on the connectors need to be depressed and the clear part slides off after levering the black outer frame off.

OK - stripped the wire back to where I could just get a piece of heat shrink over the center insulator and shrunk it on. Put a couple of push connectors on the ends of each wire and hooked them up.

Car is running, major stuttering is gone - however there is still an intermittent weak stutter - likely from either the cracked connector in the distributor or a less than successful heat shrink isolation job. Hopefully it will last for the next few days until my replacement green wire shows up.

Did you order the short green wire and a timer junior connector?

I ordered the short green wire and a "Terminal Repair Kit for 2 Prong Injector Type Plug Brand: Bosch".

I think that was the right one - wasn't called a timer junior connector though

Got the replacement wire and connector today. Car was running good with my repair job with just a periodic stutter. Went ahead and installed new green wire and set timing. will see how she runs tomorrow!

Did this green wire fix your issue?
Sorry to revive old thread. This seems to be an effective way to fix my car lol. So many problems fixed with old threads.
